  1. measure distance between base of nose and top lip: nn
  2. measure distance between tip of nose and base of nose: nm
  3. using plastic caliper, pull on top lip to stretch upwards and over the nose; measure total distance of inside of lip: mm
  4. using predetermined formula, calculate ration of above measurements
  5. plot findings for local population on chart
  6. measure foreign subject; test against established chart for local standard.
